Can Cuch dates back to the 10th century, when a few small buildings located around the threshing floor used to shelter people, animals and food. Over the centuries, the main house got bigger until it become a large farmhouse with two threshing floors and a watering pond which has now been converted into a swimming-pool.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Cuch family moved to the centre of Cànoves, and the house was let to sharecroppers. That was a period full of stories, legends, wars, secret hideouts…
In January 1989, the Cuch family sold the property to the Zimmermanns. Yves Zimmermann and Bignia Kuoni breathed a new life to Can Cuch: the house was filled with books and relevant personalities of the Barcelona culture. They started the first renovation, based on the project developed by the architect Anna Bofill Levi.
On April 19, 2007, the Clavell-Planas and Banús-Pascual families purchased Can Cuch from the Zimmermans. Among the documents of the house, they found Anna Bofill´s plans and used them as a starting point to convert the masia into a charming hotel restaurant, which opened on 11 September 2011.
