A country house in the Montseny with more than thousand years of history

A brief history of the masia

The origin of Can Cuch takes us to the 10th century with small buildings that served to shelter people, animals and food. Over the centuries, the main house was growing until it became a large farmhouse with an irrigation pool converted into a pool.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Cuch family moved to the center of the town of Cànoves and the farmhouse was in charge of some landlords. They are years of stories, legends, wars and secret hiding places.

In January 1989, the farmhouse is sold to the Zimmermann family. With Yves Zimmermann and Bignia Kuoni, Can Cuch enters a new stage and the house is full of life, books and important surnames for the Barcelona culture. It was at that time when a first rehabilitation began, guided by the architect Anna Bofill Levi.

On 31st of July 2007 Can Cuch changed property. Among the documents of the house, the new owners found Anna Bofill´s plans and used them as a starting point to convert the masia into a charming hotel restaurant, which opened on 11th September 2011.
